Comprehensive athletics program enhances student well-being
Students at Redeemer grow academically, spiritually, and physically. We offer an outstanding athletic environment for our students.
Team sports and physical activity help young people benefit from hard work, mental focus, respectfulness, self-control, and the pursuit of excellence. Our students are able to:
- achieve a healthy lifestyle
- compete in interscholastic sports teams versus other high schools
- attend local and regional tournaments
- participate in an intramural program at lunch
- take physical education classes from grades 9 to 12
- join Workout Wednesdays, an on-site fitness club
- train in after school practices
Redeemer athletes compete against area high schools
Redeemer is pleased to be part of the National Capital Secondary Schools Athletic Association. Our school teams compete against other Ottawa area high schools, as well as Ontario Christian high schools at tournaments throughout the year.
All full-time students registered at Redeemer are permitted to try out for a sports team.
Our interscholastic sports include:
- Volleyball
- Soccer
- Basketball
- Track and Field
- Cross Country Running
- Badminton
Keep up with Redeemer Christian High School standings at www.fatdog.ca – we can be found under NCSSAA.
Any family that would like to apply for an OFSAA grant to help off-set the cost of their child’s school sports fees can download information and an application form here.
Lunchtime intramurals keep students energized for class
If a student is looking for a less competitive and more relaxed game, our intramural program is an excellent option. Lunch time intramural activities include:
- Indoor Soccer
- Volleyball
- Basketball
- Floor Hockey
- Dodgeball
To participate in intramurals, students can sign up with our athletics director. At Redeemer, everyone joins in and the goal is to have fun.

For a small school, Redeemer produces quality, competitive teams that hold their own against the larger schools they compete against.

Our athletes are encouraged to seek excellence and put sportsmanship and respect above winning.
