Dress code offers choice
Redeemer’s dress code policy requires students to wear school issued clothing. Our uniforms allow for flexibility within limits. Students have options to wear a variety of tops and bottoms, including hoodies, v-neck pullovers, navy or khaki pants and shorts, and skirts.
Uniforms have had a positive impact on our school culture. Teenagers here don’t have to concern themselves with the latest fad, our dress code policy isn’t up for interpretation, and parents save money.
Redeemer uses R.J. McCarthy school uniform company. This is a Canadian company and Canada’s largest school uniform supplier, serving more than 500 Canadian schools.
When students participate on a sports team, they wear authourized athletic uniforms. For intramural sports and physical education class, the school has a logo t-shirt for students to wear (all new students receive a free athletic t-shirt at Registration Day). Students may either purchase athletic shorts from the school or bring in their own in either navy or black.
Try it on before you order
We strongly encourage new students to come in for a fitting, with a parent and/or someone in the office. They can try on sample pieces in different sizes to get the best fit possible and to ensure dress code is met (i.e. length of kilts or tightness of shirts or pants).
New students who register during the registration period are invited to sign-up for a time to try on uniform items on two different dates in mid-May.
Students who register during the summer can be fitted on Registration Day in late August or contact our school office to arrange for a fitting.
Current students are welcome to see Mrs. Stegeman in the school office at lunchtime to try on the items before they purchase them.

How to place an order
We have a selection of clothing in a variety of sizes in-stock to accommodate students who require clothing items throughout the year or who join our student body mid-year. Four times a year, in September, November, March, and May, we do a bulk order to meet student demand and re-stock our inventory.
To place an order:
- Fill out the order form, available below and at the office, and return it to the office with payment (cheque, cash, or signed note permitting the student account to be used).
- If the item is in inventory, it will be given to the student right away.
- If the item is not in inventory, it will be ordered at the next bulk order deadline (September, November, March, and May).
- When items come in, students are notified to pick them up at the office. It generally takes between three and four weeks for items to arrive.
Sometimes certain items in specific sizes are back-ordered. This is out of the school’s control and generally we do not know when specific items will be coming in. If we are notified, we pass that information on to students.
Special order items take six to eight weeks to come in. There is no extra charge for special order items (i.e. extra length on pants, kilts, and shirts).
Returns and Exchanges
Returns and exchanges can be made, while supplies last, through Mrs. Stegeman at the office. If the desired item is not available, it will be ordered with the next bulk order.
Returned items must be unwashed and unworn, with tags attached.
Damaged merchandise may be returned without tags.
Students may purchase gently used pre-owned uniform items for sale at the school. A list of currently available items can be found here.
